Asian inspired foods have been a staple in my house since I was a child.
Thusly I have a lot of soy sauce based stir fry recipes. I would not by any means call this authentic, but it is very tasty
- Two chicken breasts cubes
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- two teaspoons of minced ginger
- a head of broccoli, broken into small clusters
- sugar snap peas
- about three or four tablespoons of soy sauce
- a chili (or more, if desired) of your preferred level of heat (jalapeño/serrano/thai chili/etc) sliced thin.
- enough cooking oil to cover the bottom of your large frying pan/wok.
- salt/pepper to taste.
Put the cooking oil on medium heat with the oil to heat up, add garlic and cook till fragrant.
Add in chicken, cook until the outside is white all around.
Add in broccoli, peas, ginger, soy, chili and cook until the chicken is well done.
Remove and serve with rice.
A couple of notes:
the soy sauce amount is an approximation, truly I add as much as I want. feel no limitations on the amount. If you want crispier vegetables, don’t add them in until the chicken is almost done cooking completely and then blanche on high heat.
For a greater depth of flavor, add your ginger and chili in with the garlic but you have to be extra watchful to not scorch the ginger.
